What's the background on this wood (where from, oily?, etc.)?

Mulberry is from MO(and other US )

Moradillo is from Bolivia and Brazil,also called morado and another name or 2,here is a bit of info...

What I have is red cedar,Mo Conservation Dept says they are a true Juniper,but I don't know if it is as hard as western juniper.

Is the material you have sufficient for core material or is it veneers to put over cores?

I would only go veneers and don't recommend it on radical limb designs. Better safe than sorry.

That said, I believe Trux Turning has a 56" TD recurve made with knotty from here. That would be all core in those. Maybe he'll happen by and tell us what he thinks of it.....
