Bowyer near Houston
« on: October 15, 2009, 02:07:00 PM »
I have asked this before, but are there any bowyers near Houston that would help me. I won a stave from Two Tracks, and it has been in my garage for about a year now. I would like to work with somebody that has the tools and would be willing to help me get started. Need to cut the arrow rest, string grooves and tiller the bow to weight. It is hickory backed osage I believe. I am not sure if bow building is something for me in the future so I don't want to invest in the tools at this point in time.

I know it is deer season, but I sure would like to get this done can anybody help.

Thanks,
Chester

Chester, If you don't find someone in your area think about coming to Oklahoma in March. The Oklahoma Selfbow Society hosts an event called OJAM. More info can be found at  www.OJAM.org.  I'm sure you can finish your bow during this weekend.

Tommy where in Ok is it? I think that it might be something that I would like to attend anyways. I saw it on another post earlier, so I have been thinking about it.

Thanks,
Chester
