Who is a good source for ipe
« on: October 20, 2009, 10:59:00 AM »
I got a request of an ipe/bamboo longbow and I've never used it.  Where can I procure some.  Splices aren't an issue for me so it can be 36" pieces.

Hey Mike, here's a link to where I get mine.  http://www.austinwholesaledecking.com/ipe_botanical_info.htm

Just ask them to hand pick you some and tell them what you're using it for.
I buy the 5/4 x 6" and resaw it in half and can get 6 bows from one board.

If you just want enough for 1 bow I can send ya a piece. Pm me and let me know.
