Limb Pad Angles
« on: November 02, 2009, 07:10:00 AM »
I know the the Limb pads for a bigham T/D recurve is 11 degrees, but I was wondering if that is the most common angle.

If I choose to increase the angle does anyone know to what degree in poundage it would increase?

They must have changed then...the prints i got a few years ago had the angles around 22 degrees.

Yes, if you decrease that angle, you are going to raise draw weight. Be careful with this though because you are also changing the pre load on the limbs which will also cause your bow to stack sooner.

I was told that the pads were 11 by a friend but will follow up to be certain.

I planned to control the preload by changing the limb and string length. My desire was to lower the brace height without just making a longer string.

In the end I would like to find a happy medium and interchange my hybrid longbow limbs and recurve limbs with the same riser.
