Binghams TD recurve
« on: November 09, 2009, 08:57:00 PM »
Anybody ever build one?? If so how did it turn out?? The reason i ask is i travel alot to hunt the places i have access too and there isn't alot of room in a single cab truck for a 66" one piece longbow. I can't see myself putting something i made in the bed of the truck either. So, I was thinking of building a TD recurve and carrying it in a case until i get where i'm going. I just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions about this bow. Thanks

Yes !! Many here have and they have a great product. I built my first one a few years ago and had very little woods skills at the time. She turned out great and it was a very rewarding feeling to show her off.  I say go for it. You won't regret it.

Oh and do a seach for bingham bows and build alongs too see just what how easy they are to build. Binghams will be only a phone call away if you get stuck too.

I have built three of them and had success each time. I even made two sets of limbs for one of them.
Fact is I am going to be building one or two more this winter.

Here are a couple pics.

Agreed.  The take down "pronounced" version I made is my favorite bow to use...and the one I hunt with.  I made mine the full 68"...but i was told they make great shooters even down to 62".  Good luck!

I've only built two of the t/d recurves and they turned out really nice and shoot very well. Before building these bows I shot mostly a 66" r/d longbow. I have found that there's just something (for me at least) about longbows that I like better than recurves. I have not built a t/d longbow but plan to order instruction material from Bingham to get started. I guess my point is I think you should also consider the t/d longbow from Bingham as well. Let us know what you decide. Ollie

Thats what i'm trying to decide. I really like the TD LB that bjansen made. I have both sets of prints so i could make either. I just don't know if i want a 60" recurve or a 62" longbow. I started off shooting a 58" recurve and switched to a 64" R/D LB i made.Does anyone have any input on camparsion between the two? what you did like or didn't like about either?

Thanks
