Hickory backed jatoba is done!

This is my latest.  It is a hickory backed jatoba with purpleheart and walnut accents.  It is 70" NTN and pulls 70# @ 29".  I went for a very narrow profile for something new.  The handle is 1" which eases out to 1 1/4" as the widest point on the limb then steadily tapers to 3/8" nocks.  The bow shoots really well and has no significant hand shock, cast is average but the arrows seem to hit with authority.  70# is more than I like, but it was for a bow swap and now resides in PA.

I cut the nock grooves like normal then I burnt them with a hot nail.  I picked this trick up from one of the old fogeys either here or on PA (I don't remember exactly where I saw it...).  It makes the grooves nice and smooth and I like the burnt look covering up the different wood and glue lines.
