Help with making a spindle sander
« on: January 03, 2010, 05:51:00 PM »
Here is a motor unit that I saved when my kids' 'bounce house' ripped for the last time.

I intend on mounting it on the underside of a 3/4" piece of plywood to use as a spindle sander, but I don't know the best way to mount the spindle!  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Scott

a set of spindles cost about $450 and have a special taper to center and seat. You would need a machine shop buddy. If your spindle is not exact centered you will be pretty unhappy with the machine. Jim
