Bow tips

Added my first tip overlays and need to shape them up. I want to incluse second grooved for stringer. Anyone got photo's or a link to previous posts that have lots of photo's.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

This bow has double nocks but the grooves for a stringer would look similar

That's a cool idea - are there any potential issues of tip breakage due to the extra material being removed "under" the string grooves?

I would think that the inside groove would be under much more strain when the outer groove is being used.  The simple lever effect?

It should be the same strain as when using a regular stringer right? Doing it this way you have to have really long tips which ads weight where you really want to get weight down though.

You are right about the stringer putting more strain, but shooting adds a lot more stress than stringing.

I believe this double groove set up was originally used to string the heavy English War Bows. The outside groove took a longer string that was used as a stringer then removed to shoot the bow. The inside groove was for the bow string.
  Now folks use them to add a few pounds or remove a few pounds, depending which groove you use.
