Neep help Building a bow
« on: January 24, 2010, 08:18:00 PM »
I am going to build a r/d longbow for my sister.
She needs it to be about 15# @ 16. How long should I make the bow because she is only like 4.5 foot tall and I dont want it to be too long for her. I was thinking a 48in bow. What lams do I need to get to add up to this weight.

Tyler, do a search of Kenny M. and his posts, I know he recently put up some thickness requirements for a smaller bow for  young adults.

Good Luck

Give Mike a call at MadDog archery, He's a sponsor here and builds a real nice youth bow in the specs your looking at. I'm sure he will be more than willing to help you out He's a great feller and makes a nice youth bow as well. I bought my girls a pup longbow and apup recurve for christmas and they are real nice bows.
