has anyone made a bow with wenge veneers? if so what did it look like once it came out of the oven?

i'm just wondering cause i just glued one up yesterday, and when i took it out of the oven i'd have sworn that i used black glass     . it made me cuss at first. it looked soooooo pretty when i was gluing it up, but it was a whole different story when i took it out. oh well. maybe i'll try my hand with some snake skins. i'll post pics when the bow is more to shape.

The man I am learning form has had problems with darker wood under glass. If his heat box gets up around 170 it makes it realy dark. Try to lower the temp of you heat box that may help.

Maybe it'll be better when finish is applied!

If not, call me!

I bought a bow with dark cocobolo veneers that looked like that, you could barely see any grain in the limb wood. The bow was a shooter and still looked good, I bet yours will be a shooter too.
