actionwood vs solid lam for recurves

I am working on a recurve project that has me wondering how stressed is the tips when I use all actionwood? Can the curve and pressures cause the actionwood to "split"? Should I use solid lams like maple instead? Not real experienced in recurve technology yet. I have been using actionwood on longbows - no problem.

lots of actionwood recurves built every year, Black Widow and many other bowyers use it.

The glued lines should be stronger than solid wood lams,I don't see any probs there!

Kenny, I was using 2 .060 glass and 3 .060 action for a max stack of .300 on my project. I recently became aware of the 20-25% glass rule here. Looks like I need to go to .030 and .040 glass (back and belly) and 2 .060 action and 2 .050 action.
Got to build one and crony it.

scahfer and black widow use actionwood as a standard limb lam. both have proven performance and track records. you should have no problems at all

Depending on design, that will be one stout recurve

that .290 stack would make a 82 lb recurve on my Binghams 58 inch 1 3/4 inch wide recurve form.
