Grizzly Extreme Bandsaw
« on: February 15, 2010, 02:44:00 PM »
Hi,
I've been doing alot of research , and for under $1000 it looks like the 14 in. Grizzly Extreme is the best you can do. What do you guys think? Expieriences? It's a shame that a thousand dollar "american made" delta doesn't even get very good reviews.

Thanks

If you're looking for a quality bandsaw keep an eye on craigslist.  I got an excellent 14" Jet for $250.  You won't go wrong with the Grizzly if you decide to go that route, though.

I bought a 14 1/2" Grizzly thinking I was getting more. It is the same as the 14" but has some special feature which I never use. A 14", 1hp Grizzly band saw will do what you want unless you are in a mass production situation and it would probably work fine for that.

i have the 14" ultimate from grizzly which i think is the same as the extreme but with an enclosed base and a re-saw fence. i love it, i don't think you can go wrong with a grizzly.

The 14" Rikon has a 13" resaw capacity without the added expense of the Grizzlys riser blocks and a couple hundred bucks cheaper.
