ok,got the nocks shaped and bow sanded..put an unwaxed cont loop string on it and shot about 60 times. I shot the same arrows as my 54lb recurve. I have not put the bow on a scale but I think it feels at least 51# @ 28". I think I may have time to spray finish it tonight,after supper

Looking really good!  I've built some straight handled longbows and three piece takedowns and am finishing a new form (Kenny M design) for d/r longbow; hopefully mine will come out as nice as yours!

got it sprayed, bow is hanging upside down..I flipped the pic 180 degrees..got a nice dry 12/4 Sapele board today, already have some pommelle and mottled sapele veneers cut out.

Bow is now shootable..strung it up with a 452x string,installed homemade wool puffs, made a velcro rest and shot it a few times, I think it came out about 49# @ 28..

thanks,its shooting  nicely..I just won a moving target shoot with the new bow, Helen took 2nd with the one I finished last month.
