Making wedges question

How do you guys make your wedges keeping them square and putting the flat top on the wedge.
I am mainly trying to figure out the flat top then taper. Pics would help.
Thanks
Terry

I run the stock I am making them out of through the drum sander to make sure they dead flat and to thickness.
Then I just mark the taper and grind the taper on my belt sander, be sure to have a backing block when feathering the ends.
