Bow trade accident

Just a reminder to be careful when stinging a strong bow. I think the stringer came off the end and this was the results. I don't think it needs stitches but it's sore.

OUCH!!!   I'd bet that wasn't the first time and probably not the last time you injure yourself making a wood bow. This stuff is dangerous.

Don't mess around with eye or near-eye injuries.  I wouldn't hesitate to have it looked at just to be on the safe side.  Glad you're okay.

i always have the safety glasses on when stringing a new bow.  i have to wear them all day at work so i got lots.  Glad you Okay, man losing an eye would be awful.

I had glasses on and I think the rim is what cut it, but that being said I'm glad I had them on.

Glad your ok. I am always super careful when stringing a bow. I keep my face well away from the limb tips. I have seen too many of those pictures.

I do exactly like Roy says to do and will never look at the tips once its strung unless its pointing away from me.

I always use the step through method when stringing a bow.  If it snaps back it is behind you away from your face

I sometimes step through my self bows but use my bow stringer on my R/D bow....glad you missed that eye. I made a bow stringer out of some 550 paracord...took about a 5' piece and tied it..made a loop I then will rap that around the handle and pull it trough itself and step on the other end of the loop.
