brand new guy
« on: April 01, 2010, 12:39:00 AM »
hello to all-new member here if you couldn't tell yet-so i'm guilty of poaching this site for some time without signing up-sorry (fear of commitment)-anyway ive been into archery for some time now, mostly compound with recurve (old one) for fun and have always had a fascination with longbows- well if any of you are like me with work, kids, bills, etc money is kind of tight for new toys- well after reading along with some of the very informative builds i thought i might give it a try- while having no knowledge of building a bow before this i am no stranger to working with my hands so off i went- heat box, form, lams, epoxy, few exotics around my shop, and some late nights i now own a 64" selfmade longbow that i am so pumped about that i shot almost 100 arrows through when it was finally dry tonight-so point is thanks so much for all of you who took the time to document (words and pics most of all) your builds for all to see and inspire someone like me to do it myself-i thank you again- oh and when my wife gets home ill have her show me how to post pics so you can tell me what you think-

welcome to the gang. glad you found something that was helpful during your first endeavor into bow building, its truly an art and usually once you start youre hooked.the first bow you build usually ends up being something you never stop appreciating, at least for me anyway. good luck in your future builds and hope to see pics.

Welcome aboard.

I think it's an unwritten rule - Build a bow, post some pics.

Welcome! This site doesn't store pics. You have to post them on Photobucket and then copy and paste the "image code" under the picture.
