Yep, lived that dream.  Painful but an important learning curve.
A bad day of hunting is still far better than a good day at work.

board bows are good practice for tillering skills, but every once in awhile you get one that doesnt want to cooperate. my sisters bow was one of these, i soaked the cracked areas in superglue then wrapped them in wool yarn which i saturated in superglue and then tillered around the patches. bow turned out great, shoots exactly where you look and is super quiet. dont let one bad experience make you think all them will be bad, its all part of the learning curve. personally if every bow i started went smoothly without any hiccups i dont think id have much fun doing it anymore.

I feel your pain. I had a nice birch board bow that turned out nice, shot great and broke while stringing it up. As many have said on here before, "if you ain't brakin you ain't makin". make another to help dull the pain, its real good therapy.

I may try a patch on it and see if I can get a little more life out of it. If not I have 2 more good redoak boards to play with while my hickory and osage is drying.
Every one is ignorant its just on different subjects
