Elm quiver and bow.

Ive been wanting an elm bark quiver for a good while and finally got some time to skin an elm.It was very much like skinning a critter, pretty interesting the way it came off.I was told to wait til spring and I guess it payed to follow directions this time. Would the tree itself make a quality bow? Its pretty straight and about 20" around. Also if any of you have pics of elm quivers and bows please post em.I'll have to lay the stave up for a while as Im still working on a couple of hickory staves given to me by Glenbo.

Elm makes an excellent selfbow.  You'll have to get it split up and drying pretty quick.  Whitewoods can start to decay quickly if they're not taken care of right away.  

Was it a live tree that you cut?

Yeah bud, live elm.Youre the one who steered me in that direction a couple years ago.This is a rough,light tan, almost spongy bark tree.Not sure exactly what kind of elm it is.Im gonna cut it down tomorrow and just peeled it yesterday.Thanks pal.
