The lesson(s) I learned on this bow that will certainly carry over:
Using a very dense hardwood like bocote is a great way to add beauty to your bow, but can be very hard to glue up. Roughing it and the bow up really well prior to glue up is a must. I learned that after my recurves fell off post glue up and had to be glued back on.
The great positive you ask? Well that bocote is hard as nails, so it's incredibly resilient. It must've been banged against the ground or a table about 20 times before pics, and the tips still look great. I will definitely go that route again just for the durability, let alone beauty.
Also: marine vinyl sucks for handles. lol.
