« on: May 08, 2010, 05:51:00 PM »
i am currently in the process of building my first take down recurve.  i get everything else but where should the arrow shelf go?  Should it be right in the middle of the riser and the grip be low?

The center of the riser will be the deepest part of your grip with the shelf above that--I usually cut the shelf higher (1 1/4"-1 1/2") than it ends up after shaping. Also make sure you have the stronger limb as the bottom limb prior to cutting out the shelf.
