Simple question, how do you keep tip wedges in place during glue up? pics would be helpful.
BTW I am making reflex deflex limbs

This is the way I do it, drill a small hole through the limb and insert a match.  I just break it off flush after everything is all taped down.  Works pretty good, just remember to drill out near the end of the limb so it will be cut off when finishing.

I drill a really small hole in the tip end and place a small flat head finish nail in there.

The bow tip. You can use anything I use a match because that was the size drill bit I found first.

I added about 2" to the tip end on the press. When the lams are glued up and before adding the pressure strip and hose, it will take two people to do this, I manuelly press the stack of lams to the form making sure the edges are even and add a small screw in the tip end into the 2' extention of the form. This works great for me. Tony

I just wrap the limb tips well with tape after glue/layup with the wedge in there, including the ends. But I like the drill/peg idea. My only worry doing the drill/peg thing would be that if I didn't drill the holes exactly where they need to be through all the lams and glass it could cause problems when the pressure is added and things start to slide where they are supposed to be to conform to the bends in the form. There is a lot of slipping and sliding going on then. A slotted hole would do the trick I guess. A lot of people have a stop mounted on the form to keep wedges from slipping out the end. Tape is just easy for me and wedges seem to stay put. Tape is your best friend during glue up, It keeps everything in check from the riser out to the tips. Jess has a little tape wrapping around near the end of his tip but I will have it every few inches and the tips are completely covered and ends wrapped if there is a wedge in there.
