started on a project recently of refinishing the first bow i built, a longbow 72" overall, 50#@28", short handle, similar to a hill style grip but with an arrow rest cut in. its paper backed, and being my first attempt didnt get the best results on the backing. my question is whether or not anyone has removed an old backing then applied a new one, and whether id be able to do this for this bow. i would leave it alone but theres a few spots where there wasnt sufficient glue, and the edges are lifting, and another spot where the backing has a bubble in the middle of it from peeling off.
