Sunburst staining
« on: June 04, 2010, 02:16:00 PM »
I've got a hickory backed osage bow from Ed Neat.  I never much cared for his staining and burning highlight touches, so I've carefully sanded down the bow and I was wondering if anyone had experience in sunburst staining, where the grip area would be black, moving into a dark reddish/brown then into a golden at the tips.  I'm looking at wipe on/brish on stains then selaing with a satin wipe on poly.  Thanks

Here's a video of a guy doing a sunburst stain on a bamboo arrow.
