Atsugewi Osage Tribal Bow
« on: July 07, 2010, 12:13:00 AM »
Hello, this is the latest bow that I have finished, made from osage orange 44 inches backed with 2 layers of sinew painted with the Atsugewi flying geese design, this bow is very fast with a draw weight of about 75 pounds at 22 inches, I have only been able to get it to 20 inches so far,

I definitely like that bow, but about twenty pounds lighter. I like the simplicity of its looks. Sinew is amazing stuff. Pup

put it on the scale today and was only able to pull to 17 inches and it was already at 60 pounds

very cool. those short draw bows are definitly in a class of their own. i may have a hickory one in the works soon. hopefully it turns out half as nice as the one you built.

That would be a great bow for horseback. Running alongside and thwack,,, clean through a bison I bet!

Nice bow. Anyway to get us a pic at full draw?
