Difficult to get a 62" yew bow to bend 28" draw. Yew will only bend so far before it blows up. For that short a bow it will likely have to bend through the handle like an ELB. Glenn St Charles had a suggested "rule" for draw length vs bow length in his book - something about "twice the draw plus X". Good luck with your project.

Post a pic of your current bow. Does it have these same specs?

I would have to dis agree with the length being to short. I have made many Yew bows that were 62" and 64" and would not think twice about pulling it to 28. I sold a yew bow to a guy that pulled 30 and he has not called me asking for a refund yet.
