I SO badly want one of those! I just blew my Ipe bow build, so osage is next. Is that from stave or board?

Congrats on the smokes, I need to throw them away also. It's from two board billets Z-spliced together.

Pat, I always made my BBO bows around 60 to 62 at the most. This is my first try at 66 inches, and I'll never make a shorter bow now:) This bow is the best shooting bow I have ever made. Very quiet, very fast, and very accurate. And it draws so smooth. And I will add, with the longer limbs, it just seemed so much easier to tiller.

Spent 5 hours in the Bow Shop tonight, tillering  another one just like it. Seems the more I make, the more I learn and the better they come out. And I have  another 66 incher waiting in the drying box:)

Looks like it turned out real nice Roy.  I noticed how quiet your pulley is on your tillering tree.  I look forward to getting together again after Christmas.  I'll bring your sweatshirt.

Roy, it is amazing how much difference a few inches will make. Longer bows are more accurate to shoot, more forgiving of a less than perfect release and can be faster than a shorter bow.
  When I started making 60" recurves it took me almost a season to feel comfortable with the way they shoot and when I switch back to a longer bow my conbsistancy improves tremendously.

Build alongs are aways welcome. The more I watch yall build the more I think I my beaable to pull a build off myself. I love the smooth ness of your tree and pulley system.

Thanks guys and girl. I use a 1/8th steel braided cable on the tillering tree, with a 3 inch pulley on the bottom. It is really smooth, but sounds like the pulley needs a drop of oil again:)
