I have a bow made from black locust that had the handle pop off. its 49@26 right now and i am wanting to up the poundage a bit. I have both hickory and bamboo backings that I can slap on and was wondering if they would be to strong for the belly of the locust and whick backing you would prefer?

I like hickory myself. Haven't used either combo though w/BL. But probably either backing will work. Trap the back really good for bamboo if you go that route. That's always a safe bet with the unknown.....Art

i have a bamboo backed maple/red oak trilam , and i absolutely love the boo. im sure hickory would look nice too.
i think art has a good idea for trapping the back , cause they say locust frets kind of easily.

Personally I would go with the boo.
