Does Ipe work well unbacked? I feel like I have a some with very straight grain but just wanted to see what others thought.

I think it takes a special board to do unbacked Ipe but it has been done. Justin Snyder over at PA made one of the nicest ELB style bows I've ever seen with unbacked Ipe. Ken75 has made some unbacked Ipe bows as well. Rich Saffold's original Ipe article in PA was mostly about unbacked Ipe. If you decided to do it please post pics
