Cut some wood today, Cedar and Hickory hope it works out. Not bad looking stuff, what do you think?

okie you got that right. That hickory is tough stuff and the cedar is so easy to split. Almost to easy, I have to watch it.

Newbe question. On the cedar, is the sap or heart wood used- or both? Also for self bows or laminates& backing/bellys. I always viewed cedar as a soft/ week wood. Thanks!

Nice haul Old Guy. Both good bow woods.
Dennis, any or all can be used in bows. I have seen all sapwood ERC bows that were great shooters.

In the DVD "Full Circle" the guy made an all sapwood ERC bow, sinew backed, that shoots great.
