48" Youth Bow Design Question
« on: February 17, 2008, 10:18:00 PM »
If I am making a 48" youth longbow and I notice that there is too much bend at the fades and not enough along the rest of the limb and I want to shift that bend up a bit more in the limb do I start my taper further up in the limb?

For example, my limbs at the fadeouts are 18" long.  I have been running a sraight taper from the fade outs to the tips.  The bow is 1" wide at the fadeouts and the tips are 3/8" wide.  To achieve a more uniform bend where along the limb should my taper start?

BTW these bows are all under 20# @18"

Matt

Hi Matt,
 Are these selfbows?
Stay sharp, Kenny.
