TroutGuide, I didn't see anybody post this info yet.  Your bow was 58", with an 8" handle... leaving you with 50" of working limbs.  But, your draw length is 28", meaning that your minimum working limb length should be 56" (28 x 2).  Now 56" plus your 8" handle = 64"... and that's the minimum length you should have started with.

Thanks Rain Man That will help with the next build but in this case it was a bad log to start with and that is all I could get out of the stave I had.  In hind sight I should have made a 30@24 bow of my son when he gets bigger.  Like I said make it or brake it.  I learned a lot and am not realy upset about loosing it.  Like when I learned to water ski if I didn't fall hard I wasn't getting better.  Lots more trees and wood out there.

Well , I guess I was wrong. I usually learn more from a broken bow than a shooter anyways. Hope that helps.
