wife's bow

hickory self bow for my wife .58 inches tip to tip 35 lbs at 24inches but tillered to 28 for safety. tips flipped and pin nocks , green acrylic paint with vines

That's a beauty.

I had a bit of a problem with paint on my recent bow; I used oil based paint, not realizing that the finish would make it streak... The first coat was difficult but I was able to get it done without any smears. I assume you didn't have these problems. I need to learn how to flip tips for my next wood bow; that's something I'd like to try.

Nice job, hope she likes it.

thanks John , ive only used acrylics havent had any probs with it.nothing to flippin tips ,i steam and bend by hand so i can feel the wood , let them cool completely before tillering

Real nice bow. i like the flipped tips, must try that some time soon. I wish I could build my wife a bow and think she would use it.

thank ya'll very much , Scott she doesnt work outside the home so we actually do see each other , and i think she enjoys my time in the shop..lol ,
