Bow Glass Cutting ?'s
« on: March 15, 2011, 11:01:00 PM »
I an new to building bows but really addicted to the Hobby and art that's involved.  I am having trouble cutting the glass, I have tried Tin Snips, scoring and braking the Glass (THAT DOES NOT WORK WELL) Any help and advice is greatly appreciated thanks.

depends on the direction... to turn a 72" piece of glass into 2 , 36" pieces  use a hack saw with a fine tooth blade... if you want to turn  2" wide glass into 2, 1' wide glass use a straight edge and a razor blade. You will have to use some pressure and make multiple passes. This razor blade method works with UL glass I have never tried it with ULS glass.

A dremel tool with an abrasive cut off wheel works pretty good for short cuts.
