handle and shelf reshaping on Kodiak Hunter
« on: March 29, 2011, 01:15:00 AM »
Hey all you bowyers out there...  I have an older Kodiak Hunter that I would like to have the handle reshaped to sit lower in my hand.  More like the Predators and Black Widows so the arrow is sitting almost on top of my hand. I also like add to some arch added to the very long, flat shelf.

Any thoughts on what this would do to the structural integrity of the bow?  It still a good shooter but I struggle with how it sits in my hand.
There's only 7 days in a week. Someday is not one of them.

It would void the warranty...LOL

But long as you don't go crazy, should not really change much.. a little sanding on the palm section and some trimming on the shelf.. just do small amounts at a time.
God gave you hands, use them

It should be fine.  Draw out your new lines with a marker on the bow and then go at it.  I have a kodiak hunter myself that I thought about doing this to.
