Another Shrew ??

Is there much difference in stability in the 56" vs. the 60"Shrews.I'm still having second thoughts on what length to order.Any advice will be appreciated.Thanks for your help.

What is your draw length? What are you going to use the bow for? Like inside a ground blind. My opinion go with longer bow.

I will be in a tree and in ground blinds.I draw 26".

I had the same concerns going from shooting 66" longbows.  I draw 27".  I was going to get the 60" thinking I'd be losing stability with any shorter bow.  I decided I'd just get the 58" and live with it.

It's a waste of time to worry about it.  Once you shoot the Shrew, you will stare at the thing and wonder how it is possible that such a short bow can feel so long. Then your buddy, who has a 29" draw will shoot it.  He'll shoot it again, and again.  His 62" recurve from a major maker will be ignored while he continues to stare at your bow as you shoot.  Later, he'll call and ask if you have to work.  When you tell him you do, he'll say something like, "Hey, why don't you drop that Shrew off at the house on your way in so I can shoot it a little."  

And so goes the story of the Shrew.  My next one will be 54".

I don't own one, but I've shot a few.  I believe Molson is right on.  With your draw length, the 56" will be plenty long.

I normally shoot a 70" 21st Century longbow and I was worried about the same thing.  I have a 60" Shrew Samurai and draw 29 with it.  Let me assure you that any length Shrew is a very stable bow.  Good luck, you can't go wrong no matter what you decide.

I have a 27" draw. When I ordered mine Ron said I could get away with a 56"er but a 58"er is a better all around bow.

54" [email protected]".  No finger pinch, dead in the hand.  Shot and considered a 56" er.  The 56 didn't have any sring silencers installed when I shot it so maybe that accounted for the mild hand shock, but the deal was done when I was shooting tighter groups with the 54.  Gregg said the new limb design on the 54 makes the difference.  Molson is dead on..."you will stare at the thing and wonder how it is possible." I'm already contemplating the asking price for my recurve to finance a 54" 53# @ 28.  Good luck.  Scott

A 56" Super Shrew or 52" Classic Hunter would be perfect for a 26" draw.

David, My 56in fits perfect with my 26in draw. I want to try a shorter one someday. I hunt from a tree and a double bull blind. It works perfectley. Out Door Dan

Go with a 58" Shrew. I have a 55#,56# and a 58# all 3 are 58" and I pull 27 1/2 to 28" on a good day................

I have always shot 64 in bows and ordered a 60 in shrew and the minute a strung it up i fell in love with that bow.The way it draws is amazing and points is why this bow is often duplicated but those that try will never come close to a SHREW!!! i DRAW 29 INCHES AND BELIEVE A 58 IN shrew WOULD BE NO PROBLEM AT ALL.SWEET SHOOTIN BOW FOR SURE

I draw 28" and the 54 inch works fine for me. I've shot the 52" with no problem. I've got a new 54 coming in about 9 months.

I have Shews in 58", 56" and 54".

My son and I have a set of Chameleons that are pretty much identical in specs except his is 54" and mine is 56". I draw 27". I have to admit that I actually prefer hunting with my son's 54" bow--the 2" difference seems to make a big difference still hunting, especially in the willows out back.

I like my son's bow so much that I have a Classic Hunter on order at 54" to make a 3rd set of father/son Shrews...it will match my 56" SSDelux in shadow grey.
