Shillac removal question
« on: May 05, 2011, 08:03:00 PM »
Got a blank that was taken down to a ring and shillaced. It still has a lot of the early wood left. It is very hard to scrape off with the shillac over it. Any suggestions?

the shellac will not hinder removing remainder of early wood with a sharp cabinet scraper. you'll barely notice the shellac is even there.

kodiakidd, I've removed shellac with a scrapper. Came right off.
