Kids Board Bow

I'm building 48" red oak board bows for my grand kids.
I've backed them with a 1/16" red oak laminate.
Is it necessary to apply a belly lam to these bows as well or is the oak on oak sufficient in regards to compression?
Thanks

48" kids bow with decent grain doesnt need anything on the front or back.

That is true. The grain is good, but I built them with a R/D and generally a backing is suggested for kids bows. I chose to use an oak backing.

No belly lam needed.
