I've used both without a jig, just ran em through and tried not to get too close to the lines and then zero in and clean up with a rasp. The bandsaw can be sneaky enough as it is, getting below the line when you think your not, but the tablesaw is downright treacherous! If you have a choice go with a bandsaw, go slow, and stay at least a 1/16-1/8" away from your profile lines. If you use the tablesaw go superslow and stay at least 1/8-1/4" away from your lines. As my barber used to say, "i can take it off, but I ain't figured out how to put it back on!"
If you have some scrap wood, do a few practice runs. My 2 cents worth:) Good luck!
