GLASS DELAMINATION
« on: June 18, 2011, 09:57:00 PM »
The glass lifted on my boys bow - its at the knock, on the belly side, what glue would be best to reattach it ? All I have in house is Titebond 3 and hide glue. I can get super glue easily, ?? what should I try.

I had a similar problem on one of my bows, where the glass came off on the belly side...

I heated the epoxy with a small electric oven to make sure that it was enough thin so I could use it to glue the glass back on. I used a syringe to inject the epoxy under the glass...

After all the gaps were filled completely I applied some pressure with a few c clamps...

The next day I sanded off the excess glue, applied the finish and the limb was almost like new...

Thanks, I didn't think of epoxy! I guess any brand name epoxy will work ?

Use the slow drying epoxy. In the case you are talking about though I would use Gorilla SuperGlue  that says hi impact on it. squeeze the glue in and clamp. You can shoot the same day. I put all my tips on and have never lost a tip or overlay that I glue it with.

God bless you and good luck, Steve
