Hi,
This is my first post on TradGang and I was wondering if you bowyers could help me out? I have a Very nice Mahaska longbow that is missing a piece of wood right at the edge of the shelf wear the leather wrap is. The riser wood is cocobola I believe. This is more than a splinter and runs in a vertical line down the grip underneath the wrap. It doesn't effect the performance of the bow but I would like to repair it just in case it decides to get worse.
Is there any type of filler, putty, etc. that you would recommend to fix it? Also, the bow has a flat satin finish...what would be a good brand to buy to touch up the shelf after the repair?
I appreciate all your help!
