I would be willing to bet there will be blood on my bow within 48 hours....after I receive it that is.  Heh heh heh...antelope season opened Sunday.
I humbly follow in the learned footsteps of those who precede me.

Our season is still a little ways off, but I plan to have blooded my skins by the end of October!!! But we all know about the "best laid plans."

I will kill an elk with mine from this year in a couple weeks.  I'm also taking the bow you made me so maybe it'll get blooded too  :)   If only I had 2 tags.  Maybe kill a couple grouse with it!
Take a kid hunting!

I hit a spruce grouse using my trade bow but caught more branch than bird....  I guess since he flew off it doesn't really count.  :)   This weekend is looking promising for getting out though!

AKmud, is a 'spruce grouse' similar to a 'spruce goose'? LOL

I leave this next Saturday for a 10 day fly in moose hunt. I'll be carrying my trade bow for the first 7 days at least.  If I don't connect with the bow I'll have to pick up my smoke pole I guess...  I've been shooting it a lot and am pretty comfortable on a moose sized kill zone out to about 40 yds.

Wish me luck!   :)

Go get'em Akmud! And good luck!

I'm going out in the morning to terrorize some tree rats with last years trade bow. I've been referring to this years trade bow as my moose bow because it is the poundage recommended for moose in Newfoundland, 56#. I still don't have flu-flus for it or I would take it too.

First blood, here I come!

How about this? -

Unfortunately it isn't mine....      :banghead:    I did however get to make a good stalk on a 60"+ bull with my trade bow.  I spotted him at ~250 yds and made it to 70 yds when some other hunters thought they would help me out by doing some (particularly bad...) cow calls.  Well, their bellowing made the big brute nervous and he decided to wander off back in to the trees.  I managed to close the gap to 40 yds but the brush was too thick for a shot.  Maybe next time!

I did get some blood with my bow though, a nice spruce grouse made for a good afternoon snack before getting back in the moose stand! -
