I'm wondering what cedar you're talking about. I've made a few bows using Eastern Red Cedar, which is actually juniper. It's a lot lighter than yew and seems to make a faster bow. Yew can give a nice smooth draw. I like a little more taper on it due to the weight. Remember, I build lighter bows, though. If you're looking for input on higher weights, look to guys who build above 45 to 50. Like the advertisers say, "Individual results may vary..."
