Oh No!!!!
« on: September 01, 2011, 07:40:00 PM »

Mason was pulling this out of the car last weekend, it got caught on something, and in the process it got bent it the wrong way, and needless to say he was devastated.  Luckily for him he has another bow and I had another selfbow he could hunt with, so at least this didn't end his hunting.
So the question is, can it be repaired?  The break is in the belly, and the crack runs about 8-10 along the limb.
Thanks,
Tim

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

that sucks man. Don't repair, rebuild, but I think you already knew that.

Oh no is right.  I think it was Rob that said bad things happen to good bows.  Sorry!

If you have some urac you can fix the bow, I wouldn't trust any other glue. No difference in gluing the limb back together or gluing on a backing. You will need a substantial wrap at the break.

I used a syringe to get glue deeply in the crack to fix this bow, same kind of break. Still shooting 5 years after the repair as far as I know.

Yeah, he is right on that score.

Cars have been hard on my bows.  Well, actually a combo of cars and kids!
