One For ME
« on: September 29, 2011, 06:01:00 PM »
I haven't built a bow in a while as I have been prepping everything to try building a take down.  I finally got everything ready and built my first 3 piece take down.  This bow is more of an experiment than anything so I mainly just scabbed together scraps of wood I had laying around.

This started out as a standard Bingham's 68" pronounced design.  But after the weight came out a lot lighter than I was shooting for, it ended up around 65"

Woods are, hedge & hickory for riser with left over black glass for accent.  Limbs are walnut and boo with hedge wedge.

Its got a few flaws, but I wasn't worried about it since it is my bow and its going right to the woods with me this weekend.

I'd say it turned out great!  The woods really look nice together.  Good luck this weekend with it.

Nice one- that's a beauty!! You had some good scraps laying around. Plus it looks like it will launch an arrow too.

Best looking "scab" I've ever seen, Matt.  JJB is right, that combo looks outstanding.

Thanks everyone.  The hickory on the riser is made up of a couple pieces and same with the hedge.

It looks awesome, and the black really accents the wood choices.
