I decided to build a bamboo backed bow for a hog hunt i will be going on later this year. To make a long story short i glued up a piece of raw bamboo to a piece of bamboo flooring i cut and ground. Added some osage and bamboo for a riser and it didn't turn out as expected. I knew it would probably come out under weight and i planned on adding a osgae lam to it to get my weight back but i wasn't expecting it to look like this.
Not sure what happnened. I went back and checked my form to see if something was off and everything checked out ok. My question now is can it be saved? Can i go ahead and tiller this bow then add osage lams to it to get my weight back? If you can, what do i need to do as far as tillering. In the above pics the bow is braced at 4.5 inches and then drawn to 21 inches. As you can see its a mess but i haven't done any tillering yet and i'm way under weight. The left limb is the left in both pictures. I'm just confused. I mean to me in the first picture the left limb has a hinge which is more noticable in the second picture and the right limb is too stiff.
I'm not real sure where to start. I've never had one come out like this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
