jute twine as backing

Anyone ever use it?
I was thinking of unraveling it in thread bundles and using it similar to Sinew.
Any thoughts, ideas etc?
Thanks

Yes, it is a reasonable backing. It won't do much tension work but it'll hold a back down. Go thin. I wouldn't do bundles. Just glue it on. Stretch it as much as you can.
