how to fix limb twist

I strung up a newly made set of recurve limbs.They have alot of twist in them.What is the correct way to fix this? My string grooves are even and the limbs are alined straight.Any ideas would be of help.

Mike;  Lay the bow on a flat surface & note the distance of the limb tip to that flat surface. Is one tip higher than the other?? Now flip it over & see if you get the same look. This tells if your limbs are aligned (for take-down) or if just cut out improperly.  Ray

Are these limbs you made and did you sand the limbs at all?  If you were taking off weight by sanding the belly and back side of limbs then you took to much off one side or the other.  You can sand the side of the limb that it bends toward.  This will weeken that side and start to work its way back.  I need to know if you are the maker of the limbs though.  A little info would help

The side the limb bends toward is the weak side. sand the other side. But first make sure your string grooves are equal depth. be sure there is no binding in the grooves Smooth suface. put the bow on the floor hold it with your foot and pull it several times and see where the string settles in . then if you still have twist sand the strong side. You want to do all of the above before cutting the belly grooves.

The limbs I made my self.I have made 5 other bows with this form all turned out great.The limbs were made with foam and carbon cores.It is the first time I have used foam.I really hate to screw them up and thought I would ask for a little help. When I first strug the bow the string ran true after I flexed them the top runs way off center.So I guess my question is when I sand the strong side  where should I start.I hit my draw weight and have not sanded on them.

Did you grind the lams yourself.  They are a bit touchy and hard to grind unless you have  a good setup.  There might be another problem when you originally found the center line of the limbs.  Did you double check to make sure center was true.  I always do one side then flip over and find the center again.  This allows a double check for the center line of limbs.  If you haven't sanded on the limbs then you can check the nock grooves, then mark from fades every five inches check from center line to side of limbs for both limbs and adjust as needed.  You might have a bow on strong side of limb that needs to come down a bit.  Put the two limbs together and check the thickness of the two against each other.  I hope that this helps
