Pig Gig bow
« on: February 08, 2012, 03:31:00 PM »
Heading south next month for some warm weather,(although it sure has been an easy winter here)
hunt with some good companions and hopefully put some pork in the freezer.Been building a new bow for the "gig" every year.Dusted off a few of my staight handled wood bows and liked the way they pointed for me so I made up a straight handled glass bow. First glass bow I've built that has one.

Drawn to 28.5

Specs:

 62", 48 # @ 28
 Ash w/ aboo cores
 Wenge/jatoba/ ipe riser
 Walnut Pl and TW

Came in 4-6 # light (didn't add enough stack to compensate for the aboo)but we'll see how the hogs like it  ;)  Been nice drawing in the 20 degree weather we've been having at the Sunday 3D's

I love the lines on that one.  If you need a place to leave it after your done with this years hunt I would get it out of your way to make room for next years bow. I live in Dallas so you can just drop it off on your way back up or just let me know how much postage is.

That bow is so beautiful the pigs will think it is an honor to be taken by it.  Very nice bow, and good luck.

Glad you like the bow gentlemen. I'm liking her as well   :)
Appreciate the offer Brian but I think she'll be heading back north when I go. There'll be a lefty or two similar to this bow in the next St. Judes auction.....    You can check the shipping costs then if you like.

Nice looking bow.  And I have a rocking chair just like that!
Blessed be the Lord my strength; which teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
