Making Hide Glue
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:02:00 PM »
I know how to do it, but does it matter what hide I use? From what I've read horse and deer are the most common products used in making hide glue, but will any hide/sinew work just the same?

Different glues have different properties but all are very strong.

Great. Thanks Pat. I've got some goat hides I mean to use, and wasn't sure if it would work the same.

Another thought just occurred to me. Does the sinew added to the hide glue need to be of the same animal as the hide used in the glue?
