Michigan Cabin Fever
« on: February 23, 2008, 09:44:00 PM »

This Michigan winter is driving me nuts. I couldn't take it anymore and grabbed the Pittsley Predator and headed to the indoor 20 yard range at the club. Shot a 257, beating alot of the compound boy's that were shooting in a league while I was was shooting. Not bragging but I think I converted a few of them to sticks. Not my best round but it was fun knowing they were watching. Had a couple of guy's come over and ask if they could shoot the stick. It was too much fun!

Good Idea for grtting through the winter. I been doing a little small game with a longbow. So far it's two tree rats and a bunny.
Just because it don't work for you, don't mean it don't.

Way to go Mike.  It is always great when someone can demonstrate that it is possible to be plenty accurate with simple traditional equipment.
Nice shooting - nice Predator too.

Very cool.  I was shooting with my wife and brother in law mid day on Sat.  We were wrapping up and my brother in law said shoot a few more arrows, this guys wants to watch.

I put a handful in a paper piggie target.  I later found the guy wanted to show his son not to hold at full draw.  Turns out me and the kid were the only ones without wheels there.  Dad said he draws and tries to hold like a compound and ends up shaking.

It was a fun few hours out of the house and snow.
What is it... about 70 days or so until the turkey opener?  Tick tock.. tick tock..

Happy Hunting!

Nice shooting...this winter is dragging, but between league and bunny hunting, I think I'll make it till turkey season.

56 days till the early turkey opener...but who's counting?!

It's been a tough one this year. We broke the record for snowfall in February that was set in 1908 this month and February is far from being over, Mr. Weatherman predicts another 3" to 5" again tonite. When we were having our wild, mild weather in October/November, 80's plus, I told my wife it can snow any day and I won't complain. Silly me!!!! I'm done, UNCLE! The worst part about it is February and March are the hardest month's on the local deer herd and turkey flock's. We may have to deal with a much higher than normal winter kill this year.

We have chased a few bunnies and tree rats this winter but the snow has been so deep it's hard walking without snow shoes!

Remember those   Shrew Shoes that were at my booth at the Expo? Who would have thought we'd have such good snowshoeing weather this year.

I guess I shouldn't complain to much, befor ya know it I won't have time for makin things, I'l probably have to spend most of my time cutting the grass !
